Best things to do w/ Kids in Innsbruck 🎠 🏔️ 🐐 Alpenzoo Innsbruck Small enough for little legs. Animals are close to the paths (bears, owls, lynx). You can combine it with the funicular ride - toddlers love it! 🚠 Nordkette Cable Car (Stop at Seegrube) The ride itself is the highlight! There’s a playground at Seegrube. Bring warm layers — it can be chilly even in Summer. 🎠 Old Town Walks Carousel stop & Punch-and-Judy show at the Christmas Market (at Covered Market). Visit the Lumagica Lights‘ Park near Hofburg (it brings a sparkle to kids‘ eyes). The Old Town is mostly car-free and stroller friendly - so perfect just in case someone gets tired. You can watch street performers and horse carriages passing by. 🏰 Ambras Castle Garden (5 mins by car) Wide lawns to run. Peacocks wander around to be fed. Loads of picnic and snack areas. 🌈 Swarovski Kristallwelten Play Areas If you make a day trip to Wattens (15 mins by car), there’s an outdoor playground and mirror maze great for active kids. 🚂 Train/Tram Rides Easy and fun for little ones — Innsbruck trams are smooth and stroller-friendly and the perfect transportation method from one place to another. 🍽️ Tyrolean Food Kids love Kids love the local food like Spätzle (Kässpätzle/ Schinkenspätzle) or Tyrolean Dumplings.(Speckknödel or Kaspressknödel w/ sauerkraut). Also definitely look for Tyrolean sweet dishes like Kaiserschmarrn (pancake chunks w/ apple sauce toddlers love it!) or Kiarchl (w/ cowberries and powdered sugar). 🧳 Travel Tips No matter which Season, always bring layers + beanie and gloves — mountain weather changes quickly. Consider a stroller with good brakes (to conquer some hills). Always take a wind & weather creme for kids‘ faces and hands with you — especially in Winter. Try to find a place to stay near Maria-Theresien-Straße (you can walk almost anywhere from there).
